About Our Chapter Welcome To the San Francisco Chapter of ISACA

About ISACA: 

The Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) is a professional association of individuals interested in information systems audit, control and security.  Founded in 1969, Association membership has grown to more than 50,000 members from 141 countries, belonging to more than 170 local chapters worldwide.  See ISACA website for location of other chapters worldwide.

The members includes a wide range of IS audit and control professionals working for all types of business as well as local and national governments.   These professionals hold a variety of positions including:  CEO, CIO IS Director, IS Manager, IS Audit professionals, and IS Security professionals, just to name a few.  We are a diverse group of professionals with the objective to promote the education, expand the knowledge and skills of its members.

The Association’s Standards program has established 8 Standards and nine Statements on IS auditing, which expand on the guidelines within the General Standards.  The Standards  Board is addressing specific areas of technology for IS auditing and control practioners.

San Francisco Chapter:

The San Franciso Chapter was founded in 1975 and is made up of approximately 775 members.  The Chapter provides a forum to facilitate the free exchange of information regarding systems control and security.  We also provide our members with access to audit and security resources and offer educational meetings and seminars to keep our membership informed of the latest advances in technology and audit security techniques.
