SF ISACA Quarterly Newsletter

3rd Quarter, 2010

Upcoming Educational Events

The SF Chapter of ISACA is pleased to welcome its members to the 2010-2011 Education Program!

We look forward to providing you with opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge base through our monthly educational events. As we look to continue to build upon the success of the Education Program, we ask that you, our members, provide us with feedback on the types of events and topics you would like us to offer. An excellent way to provide us such valuable feedback is participate in the Membership Survey, which will be rolled out soon – we ask that you all take the opportunity to help us better understand your continuing and changing professional needs, and how we can better serve you.

We are committed to putting member feedback into action, and are looking into once again hosting an event in the East Bay, or other non-SF location (BART accessible, of course), as well as hosting a joint event with another professional organization, such as the IIA. Two of this year’s events are slated to be Half- or Full-Day events, as we look to provide members with an excellent way to earn CPEs at bargain prices, while bringing them together with industry experts, and with excellent networking opportunities.

A calendar of tentative events for each quarter will be published in each quarterly newsletter. As events and dates become finalized, we’ll be sure to keep you informed every step of the way.

November Educational Event

Our first event of the year is scheduled for November 3rd, at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. Elias Manousos, Chief Technology Officer at RiskIQ, will be presenting on fraud threats facing large organizations, in which bad actors attempt to compromise corporate security, infect customers, and defraud legitimate programs, without detection. Attendees will be able to make specific recommendations across multiple departments to address low visibility, high impact, existing/emerging threats, based on proven results.
