Market Update for Audit and GRC - Q4, 2010

We are now two years removed from the tremendous economic upheaval of late 2008 and the subsequent deep recession. Over the past year, we have seen continued, but measured, improvement in the economy and job market. While the national unemployment rate remains relatively high, the market for Audit and GRC professionals has fared more favorably.

CISM Update

The San Francisco ISACA Chapter has a new chair for the CISM certification preparation, taking this area off the ground again. Anjali R. Atanacio, a Certified Information Security Manager herself, has started preparatory work to resume the CISM review workshop. The chapter is gearing up for the June 2011 exam. There are five focus areas or domains for the CISM certification:

Domain 1 - Governance
Domain 2 - Risk Management
Domain 3 - Program Development
Domain 4 - Program Management
Domain 5 - Incident Mgmt & Response

We will continue to connect with security professionals who may be able to provide their expertise and serve as domain leads. The chapter provides the workshop materials for the leads. Volunteers are always welcome. If you are interested in participating, please email us at cism@sfisaca.org.
